Top 5 Retro Metal songs

Now that is going to be hard list. So much good metal sons, well we will have to made top 100 metal song list in future.

1.Master of Puppets – Metallica

It’s hard, fast, rock with substance that doesn’t require the listener to wear eye-liner or big fire-hazard hair to enjoy. It also features more serious themes (albeit expressed in a particularly aggressive and direct way) and more complex arrangements than similar acts of the same era.

And, praise the Lord, they’re not singing about hotels, or lost summers, or convertibles, or goblins or lipstick and eye-liner and especially, absolutely, definitely not GIRLS.

2.Hallowed Be The Name – Iron Maiden

Iron Maiden’s classic Hallowed Be Thy Name has been voted their best track in the new issue of Metal Hammer.

It featured on their 1982 album The Number Of The Beast, which was also their first to feature frontman Bruce Dickinson.

And in the 50 greatest Iron Maiden songs of all time, which features in the new edition of Metal HammerHallowed Be Thy Name saw off competition from tracks including The TrooperRunning Free2 Minutes To MidnightRime Of The Ancient Mariner and Heaven Can Wait to claim the top spot by bands, fans and Metal Hammer staff.

3.Holy Wars… The Punishment Due – Megadeth

Holy Wars… The Punishment Due” is the opening track of thrash metal band Megadeth’s 1990 album Rust in Peace. The song has an unusual structure: it opens with a fast thrash section, shifting at 2:26 after an acoustic bridge by Marty Friedman to a different, slower and heavier section called “The Punishment Due”, interspersed by two guitar solos played by Friedman, before speeding up again with a third and final solo played during this segment by Dave Mustaine. The entire song is commonly referred to as “Holy Wars”.

The lyrics deal with global religious conflict, particularly in Israel and Northern Ireland. In an interview with the UK magazine Guitarist, Dave Mustaine said that he was inspired to write the song in Northern Ireland, when he discovered bootlegged Megadeth T-shirts were on sale and was dissuaded from taking action to have them removed on the basis that they were part of fundraising activities for “The Cause”

4.One – Metallica

It was released as the third and final single from their fourth studio album, …And Justice for All (1988). Written by band members James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich, “One” is an anti-war song that portrays a World War I soldier who is severely wounded  —  arms and legs blown off by a landmine, blind and unable to speak or move  —  begging God to take his life as he feels constant pain. His only hope is to devise a way to communicate with the hospital staff. In the music video, he jolts in the hospital bed, spelling “Kill me” in Morse code. Production of the song was done by the band alongside Flemming Rasmussen. The song was the band’s first top 40 hit single in the U.S., reaching number 35 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also a number one hit in Finland.

5.Painkiller – Judas Priest

This is one of the most powerful songs I’ve ever heard. A masterpiece in the heavy metal genre! You don’t live if this song doesn’t give you shivers.+61

I think is the best song of metal ever, it should be at least in a better place than “Art of Life”! – rock2metal+28
